All roads lead to Brexit. Eventually, only Brexit hard man Steve Baker, 'Lord' Hannan, @Bobbybunchofnumberz & Nadine Dorries will admit that they voted for it.

The more exhausted I get by the inevitable madness, the more tempted I am to put "I told you so" on an audio loop and watch @reallorraine in the morning.

One day soon, our children & grandchildren will look at the last few years of British political history and wonder, more than anything else, why on earth people like Nigel Farage, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Daniel Hannan, Zac Goldsmith & Digby Jones were ever taken seriously by anyone...

Do you remember when people who voted for & claimed to welcome all of this national & generational damage insisted that they loved it all because it upset people like us? Do you remember how they relished 'Remainer tears' even as the country crumbled? I do. And I *always* will.

Even I'm bored of pointing this out, but British politics broke when Brexit lies were presented by almost all of the British media as an equal & opposite counterpoint to reality, gravity, evidence & expertise. None of it can be fixed until the idiocy of Brexit is acknowledged.

The Murdoch/Barclay/Rothermere plutocracy wanted Brexit, wanted May, wanted Johnson & wanted Truss. And they got the lot. I have no idea what they'll want next but recent history suggests it won't be good for the rest of us.

The list of things that people agitating for Johnson's return clearly don't care about is incredible when you think about: corruption, law-breaking, cronyism, avoidable deaths, bullying, lying, rule-breaking, Russian spies, ethical breaches, trashing parliamentary standards etc

For the avoidance of doubt, a Boris Johnson return is the best case scenario for anyone hoping for a Labour landslide at the next election. Objections to the notion are born of genuine patriotism & concern for the national interest.

Truss resigned while still talking about 'the freedoms of Brexit'. That will entertain historians in years to come.

Not much of a silver lining, given the size of the cloud, but at least we now know that any producer or presenter using guests from @iealondon is either deliberately promoting their ridiculous, utterly discredited agenda or treating their audience with complete contempt. Or both.
