I am proud that today we marked the service of our nuclear test veterans with a new medal.
Their commitment has preserved peace for the past 70 years. It is only right their contribution to our safety and way of life is appropriately recognised with this honour.

Alongside the action we’ve already taken this year today's measures will ensure:
The vast majority of households receive £550.
Pensioners receive £850.
And almost all of the eight million most vulnerable households will receive support of at least £1,200.
