The UK owes all ex-servicewomen and men a tremendous debt. In my budget on Wednesday I’ll announce that employers will no longer pay National Insurance Contributions for ex-forces personnel for the first year of their work. They do a job we help them get a job #Budget2020

If we let our farmers down, we will be rightly punished at the ballot box at the general election. Our farmers are the lifeblood of our nation. As PM, I would make sure that they are supported to underpin the food security that is so important to us all. twitter.com/Ready4Rishi/st…

We have seen what can happen when global energy supplies are disrupted. That’s why we need an energy revolution. Our Energy Security Plan will drive down households bills long-term, grow our economy and boost energy security - powering Britain, from Britain.

5/ To help businesses keep people in work, I'm deferring the next quarter of VAT payments. No business will pay VAT from now to mid June. You'll have until the end of the financial year to repay those bills. That's an over £30bn injection to businesses equivalent to 1.5% of GDP

Over the last year we've helped the average household with £1,300 of support for their energy bills. Now we're extending that support. This is possible because we made tough but fair decisions in November and are taxing the wartime windfall profits of big energy companies. twitter.com/Jeremy_Hunt/st…

7/ I’m also strengthening the safety net for self-employed people by suspending the minimum income floor. That means self-employed people can now access, in full, Universal Credit at a rate equivalent to Statutory Sick Pay for employees.

The UK will, subject to market conditions, issue our first ever Sovereign Green Bond next year. This will be the first in a series of new issuances, as we build out a “green curve” over the coming years helping to fund projects to tackle climate change and create green jobs.
