Deputy Health Minister Dante Saksono and Lord LBP announced that booster shots will be made available from 1 January 2022. Roughly 100 million people will be eligible to get it for free while the rest will have to pay. The shots are expected to cost less than Rp300k each.

BREAKING | Health Minister BGS: The Health Ministry have detected one patient in Indonesia confirmed with the omicron variant. The patient is a cleaner at the Wisma Atlet emergency hospital. Three cleaners were confirmed positive but only one was infected with omicron.

There are five other probable omicron cases but they have yet to be confirmed via genome sequencing, only that they returned positive results. Two are Indonesians who returned from the US and the UK at Wisma Atlet and three are from China in Manado.
