A pleasure to meet my friend @MrWinMarshall of @MumfordAndSons at the #Save12HKYouths rally. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.” —Martin L. King #StandwithHK

Retweet it if you think your country should ban WeChat — the software that spies, censors and surveils the users.

Thank you for all my friends who came to the London rally yesterday in support of the #save12hkyouths campaign. Really thrilled to be able to give a speech in Cantonese to our beloved Hong Kong people again. Some also vowed their support to #StandWithThailand. Democracy prevails

It’s important that we can help scholars to resist the pressure from the infiltration of the Chinese govt into these higher education institutions. Please support the legal defence of @Anne_MarieBrady. twitter.com/anderscorr/sta…

4. I hope the democratic protestors in Thailand victorious. Not only is democracy for everyone, but I will also be able to meet you all the courageous people there. Let's keep fighting. We #Mileteaaliance support each other and the fight for democracy. #ปล่อยเพื่อนเรา -END

2. In 2015, a bookseller who sold sensitive books in Hong Kong was kidnapped in Thailand by the Chinese authority and brought back to China. For now, he is still in jail. The Thai government seemed tacitly allowing this incident.

3. Luckily, under our liaison, pressure, and protest, Joshua safely returned. After that, even though I like the Thai culture and people, I was too worried to go because of the regime's close relationship with China.

1. It's too dangerous for a Hong Kong political dissident to travel to Thailand. In 2016, Joshua was detained at the airport when he tried to give a speech there. I was so worried he would be abducted just like the bookseller, which we may not be able to see him again.

Thanks for the interview and glad to chat about my journey in the democratic movement! twitter.com/OxHRH/status/1…

It was so touching to hear our Thai fellows chanting for Hong Kong. "คืนเอกราชให้ฮ่องกง" (Kuen A-Ka-Rhat Hai Hong Kong) -- It means "return independence to Hong Kong." People fighting for democracy and autonomy should support each other. #ปล่อยเพื่อนเรา #หยุดคุกคามประชาชน

We, Hongkongers, hear you. The world hear us. And now it’s the government’s turn to hear your demands. Keep fighting for democracy. #MilkTeaAliance #StandWithThailand

Be kind to your fellows, have faith in collective wisdom, be fluid on strategies, be determined in actions. Never lose hope, stay safe. #StandWithThailand #BeWater

[Urgent: Petition to #StandWithThailand] คำร้องเพื่อเปลี่ยนแปลง chng.it/KVz8msP9Fh We, Hongkongers, have faced endless political persecution in the year-long ongoing protest. The fight for democracy is a collective battle, and we stand with our fellows in #MilkTeaAlliance.

Please support the Thai protest and urge for a more democratic world! #StandWithThailand twitter.com/SunnyCheungky/…

7. Often people living in democratic societies take freedom for granted. While in the other part of the world, protestors have to face life-long imprisonment for the most fundamental rights to protest and vote. We all stand together, and to support the pursuit of democracy. -END

6. Before he stepped into the police station, he reconfirmed his determination towards the fight for freedom. He quoted President Roosevelt:” The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith.”

5. When Francis heard about the arrest warrant, he decided to confront this absurd accusation – on 16 Oct, he turned himself to the police station and stated clearly that he did not intend to hurt anyone.
622
4. Francis was wanted under the military rule that arbitrarily deprives people of their basic rights of protesting and speech. It’s obvious that the authority intended to intimidate the other protestors by setting Francis as an example. This charge could put him in jail for life.
623
3. Just a couple days ago, he recorded a video in support of Hong Kong movement and Taiwan. The police accused him of intending to hurt the Queen on 14 Oct, when the protest was completely peaceful and did not obstruct the movement of the Queen.
624
2. I feel the pain when he made a brave decision, to turn himself to the police to prove that he is innocent -- even though he may face life-long imprisonment under the current draconian law.

THREAD: 1. This is a story of a Thai student leader, which makes my tears drop. I don’t know Francis personally, but the same pursuit of freedom and human dignity makes us connected. Proud to be part of #Milkteaalliace #StandWithThailand
