2. Then, just before touching touch some 12 hours later, I saw buildings of varying heights beneath a cloudless sky. In this strange land, I began planning for the life ahead of me. There remains so many uncertainties.

3. The event went smoothly. Yet, the attack shows how CCP aggression threatens our cherished values. The other schools may not stand as firmly as Uchicago did. I hope the govt can look into signs of infiltration in these CSSA and to ACT to protect the FREEDOMS in YOUR country.

4. I was prepared when I left Hong Kong to be in exile; but this becoming a reality still disappoints, incapacitates, and frightens me. Indeed who can enjoy freedom from fear in the face of China’s powerful political machine? What we can choose is how to respond to this fear.

Justice is gone.
People of Hong Kong have to protect themselves from this draconian colonial law.

🇱🇹Yesterday I met with Lithuania’s permanent representative to the EU, Ambassador @SimonasSatunas
✅We discussed Hong Kong issues and global democratic situation. I thank him for standing up for human rights, against coercive global power, and the strong stance on Taiwan issues.

That's the way we should move forward. Let's hold CCP accountable for its human rights violations. twitter.com/ipacglobal/sta…

All candidates in the Hong Kong Legislative Council elections now have to be vetted by the National Security Bureau. There will be no opposition voice in the council hereafter. The freedoms in Hong Kong are dead, and now the elections. twitter.com/hkfp/status/13…

NINE YEARS for waving a flag and dangerous driving. Let's just face the truth: rule of law in Hong Kong is gone and the court is weaponized to persecute protestors severely.

The world should act now.
//As Beijing once again breaks its promise of autonomy in the Joint Declaration .... The UK government and its allies should impose sanctions on those responsible for the city’s political backsliding. //

Police and Chinese mob are ruling Hong Kong. They are beating citizens everywhere and trying to threaten the people. When the Chinese mobs are attacking the citizens, no law enforcements are there.
Shame on the government.

Mr.Gao once again showing his ignorance, poor manner and distributing misinformation on a BBC show, which is banned in China. Typical Beijing mouthpiece quality. twitter.com/BBCNewsnight/s…

5. For me, it’s with action: I’ve always advocated for democracy in Hong Kong, for sanctions by foreign governments against officials who stifle human rights, for an international response to concentration camps in Xinjiang and the collapse of Hong Kong’s autonomy.

We get stronger when we learn from the democratic movements of the other countries. My friend Daeseon Lee had laid flowers on behalf of me and @joshuawongcf on the grave of casualties from Gwangju Democratic Movement. It’s an important incident that the world should remember

Together with @BarackObama, @realDonaldTrump, @SpeakerPelosi and others, I pay my utmost respect to one of the greatest civil-rights activists of all time: “RIP Congressman John Lewis. Thank you for your support. Thank you for your activism.” 🙏

My deepest gratitude to @GretaThunberg for her hand-writing letter to my friend @joshuawongcf, who has been jailed for over a year. We still don’t know when activists like Joshua can leave jail.
“You are a big hero, we are with you always."
Thanks @daeseon_lee for his effort.

Central and Eastern European countries should seriously consider withdrawing their participation in 17+1. It’s a significant hindrance in forging a unified EU approach to the CCP and providing them a great window to divide and conquer. Values always come first.

The logic behind the arrests could possibly be:
paricipating democratic camp primary election= fighting for Legco majority= subverting the state power
The way autocracy thinks is terrifying. The world has to react and hold the CCP accountable.
