The SNES version of Yoshi's Cookie contains a sprite of a Boo with a smug expression that is always partially obscured. I have attempted to create a clear version of the sprite using all available references; however, part of the sprite had to be left to speculation.

During the minigame "Hole Hogs" in Mario Party 9, green hills can be seen in a corner (top left). Zooming out (top right), we can see that this is actually a model of a lake from the World 6 map of New Super Mario Bros. Wii (bottom), which has been imported and slightly edited.

In Tetris DS, the bottom screen of Puzzle Mode displays a static background of Yoshi looking at the player (top). However, the background is actually made of two parts: an unseen base image of Yoshi looking the other way, which is then covered up with a separate layer.

Left: Bowser's hurt sprite from Super Mario World. Right: the same sprite from the game's Game Boy Advance remake, Super Mario Advance 2. As you can see, Bowser's arms have been recolored, he has been given extra fingers, and his mouth was made to open slightly more.

From a normal distance, the eyes of Piantas in Super Mario Sunshine appear to be simple black pupils. Zooming in, we can see they are actually dark gray irises with barely-visible black pupils.

Illustration of Yoshi without arms from GamePro magazine. As other illustrations of Yoshi from the same issue do have arms, this is most likely an oversight.

The ending for the Japanese version of Super Mario World lists enemy names in Japanese, transliterated into the Latin alphabet. Some of them are English names and words; Fishin' Boo is "Spook", Mega Mole is "Indy", and Bullet Bill and Banzai Bill are "Killer" and "Magnum Killer".

The quiz minigame "Snifit or Whiffit" from Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Paper Mario: Color Splash is called "Hit It or Snifit!" in the British versions of the games; presumably due to "whiff" meaning "miss" being American baseball slang and likely to be less known in Britain.

While Bowser usually has a simple set of two spikes on his tail, Giga Bowser from the Super Smash Bros. series replaces it with an arrangement of four spikes called a "thagomizer".

In Super Mario RPG, upon entering the Factory, unique sprites of the five party members are briefly shown falling into the darkness. Due to the sprites rotating during the cutscene, it is hard to get a good look at them. On the right are the sprites extracted from the data.

The Brazilian commercial for Donkey Kong Country 3 included a Kremling in a business suit that is visible for only a few frames. Apologies for the image quality; this is the only known footage of the Kremling.

A tip for Super Mario 64: Selecting any of the stars numbered 3 to 6 in Jolly Roger Bay results in Unagi the Eel swimming freely in the water, able to hurt Mario. It is possible to always make the eel remain in his hole by selecting star number 2 when entering the level.
