Whenever Mario travels via the Cheep Blimp in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, a small version of Glitzville is seen from far away (top). Zooming in, we can see that the small signs were not localized and display the Japanese names "Urontown" and "Fresh Juice Uron" (bottom).

In Mario Party 7, several polygons in Birdo's eyes are missing, creating holes that can be seen through. This is the only time in the Mario Party series that a character's model is incomplete in this manner. In total, 10 polygons are missing, resulting in 4 distinct holes.

During the event in Chapter 7 of Paper Mario where Mario must tell Bombette apart from imposters, a shadow can be seen on the floor behind Mario. That shadow belongs to the actual Bombette, who is still following Mario around; merely made invisible as a development shortcut.

Unused enemies found in the data of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam: a Paper Stingby as well as black and gradient green Paper Goombas. In the finished game, all paper enemies are taken from Paper Mario: Sticker Star; the Paper Stingby would have been the only entirely new enemy.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the sprites of characters are layered in such a way that their face is only visible from the front. (Top: typical back view of characters.) The only overworld NPC with a double-sided face is the Lakitu reporter from Glitzville (bottom).

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Lubba usually has a mouth, which is visible in all official art and during normal gameplay (left). However, going into first-person view around Lubba makes his mouth completely disappear (right).

Japanese toy of Winnie the Pooh dressed in an outfit strongly resembling Wario's. While it appears to be a licensed Disney product, the packaging indicates no Nintendo license, meaning that the Wario reference is unauthorized.
