I'm starting to think that the reason why dark skin is so poorly represented in art because it's thought as a single shade that isn't pale..
I often see the excuse "they look brown enough to me/they're still brown" on here.
it's not good enough if it barely registers as a brown

since september, i've been studying at a japanese university from home, and it looks like i might finally be able to move to study in-person!
this is very important to me, and i want to be self-sufficient as possible, so i'm opening new commissions.

it's interesting even when my dark skin and pastels guide is reposted, people still go "that's not pastels!" as if I were to wear a pink skirt in real life my skin colour would become three shades lighter
a lot of you just don't want to put in the work
