When Yasin Kawuma was shot dead in Arua, UPDF claimed that our group carried out the murder. To date they have never arrested or prosecuted anybody. The country is also aware of the contradictory statements that former President of NUP Mzee Kibalama made in court after meeting..

the Chief of Defense Forces. Recently when they abducted and raped comrade Marinos, they quickly called a press conference and downplayed the heinous crimes. They did the same for Kakenza, Masereka, etc. The examples are endless.

There are some comrades who they tried to conscript into these kinds of games after torturing them, and when they refused, they threatened to kill them. Many of them are in exile! We have also noted the empty claims that NUP abducts its own supporters using drones.
2254
Fortunately, vigilant Ugandans have always recorded videos of most of these abductions involving armed security men and everytime there have been such incidents, majority of the victims have been arraigned in court after pressure from our lawyers and the public.
2255
Examples are many — Katto Hussein Gaza, Motiv Kasaga, Bobi Young, Jamushid Kavuma, etc. Yesterday, they abducted another man right outside Buganda Road Court. Was that NUP in action??? I challenge Kulayije and his conspirators to produce CCTV footage of Mwesigwa 's abduction!

We hope the blatant lies by the UPDF spokesperson are motivated by embarrassment, and that moving forward, they will stop abducting and torturing citizens. They engage in these panicky gimmicks is because they fear sanctions and prosecution, which will certainly come.
2257
They would rather torture people, but do everything possible for the world not to know. Too late for them, the evidence of their crimes is available to the whole world.

I've been blessed and touched, how will I ever thank you oh lord? They keep fighting me but I am not giving up. May the stream of Zion fill my spiritual cup. Jah give me strength and protection day and night. #ChosenByGod #Destiny

Nearly one full month since his death, today we were joined by thousands of people in Namisindwa District to say farewell to our brother, friend and head of the @NUP_Ug legal department, comrade Wameli Anthony Yeboah.

I thank all Ugandans and friends of Uganda, who have joined us in the different activities leading up to this day. We believe that his soul is already in heaven. Till we meet again, brother!

To mark the International Women's Day, these ladies held a peaceful protest to denounce the ongoing abduction, torture and detention without trial of innocent citizens in Uganda who include partners to some of the protesters.
2264
Unfortunately, the criminal regime's Police force resorted to its usual tactics of oppression; it violently broke up the peaceful protest and arrested many of the ladies. Their relatives & friends remain blocked from accessing them in detention at Wandegeya Police Station.
2265
We call for the immediate release of the protesting ladies, for they committed no crime whatsoever. Their constitutional right to dignity and peaceful protest must be respected. We reiterate our demand that all political prisoners be freed unconditionally. #BringBackOurPeople

Spent today meeting with @NUP_Ug Members of Parliament. We discussed several matters of great importance to the nation and especially reminded ourselves of the urgent duty we have to advance the cause of the people to get their freedom from a repressive military dictatorship.

I appreciated them for defying so much intimidation and remaining committed to the cause. I tasked them to do even more work in the coming days and months to further the struggle against military rule.
