This tragedy brings to mind the perils on our lakes and rivers- with many people senselessly losing lives daily. May we all reflect and work towards eradicating such carnage on our waters because it is possible! May the souls of the departed rest in peace. #Tanzania

I send sympathies to fellow leaders & artistes in Tanzania. My prayers are with every family that has lost a loved one. May you find solace & peace in the Lord who promises never to leave us nor forsake us even in such trouble.

This morning I read that the death toll in the Nyerere MV ferry disaster on Lake Victoria in Tanzania has risen to 209 or so. We continue to mourn with our Tanzanian brothers & sisters who lost countrymen and countrywomen in this tragedy of unimaginable proportions.
2181
I also visited our brother 'Sweet Pepsi' who was beaten terribly by soldiers. Such an innocent man whose only crime was expressing his joy at my return! Together, we prayed that our nation sees better days in our lifetime. We shall overcome. #PeoplePower
2182
Later, I visited our comrades who were brutalized in Arua & are currently receiving treatment at Lubaga & Mengo hospitals. I was glad to note that despite their physical pain, comrades Atiku Shaban, Asara Night & Sauda Madaada are still devoted to the struggle for our freedom.
2183
Yesterday, we visited the family of our fallen brother & comrade Yasin Kawuma in Kiteezi, Lusanja in Kyadondo East Constituency. As we pray for him to continue resting in peace, may we work even harder & put an end to such senseless, extra-judicial killings of our people.

I hope Ugandans who watch these things now fully understand why we must urgently work towards redemption. I was overwhelmed by the masses of people who waited for me at home in Magere. I can't thank you enough! I am thankful to God for getting me home safe. Viva! #PeoplePower
2185
I'm very bothered by the gruesome pictures & videos shared. Why would security agencies dehumanize Ugandans this much? I saw people, most of whom were going about their business along Entebbe road & Kasangati town, being beaten & manhandled by security. This impunity must stop!
2186
Many of my fellow leaders were put under house arrest for no offence whatsoever. Simply because the state suspected that they would want to go and receive me at the airport. This is gross abuse of authority.
2187
Once again my rights were grossly violated, but most importantly the rights of my friends, family and lawyers who endured gross harassment throughout the day. Many of them were arrested and only released later in the evening without any case against them.
2188
They drove at breakneck speed & after a long ride, we got to Kiira then headed to Gayaza road until I was eventually dropped at my home in Magere.
2189
I got sandwiched between two counter terrorism policemen in a vehicle that had other police officers waiting. I was then driven off towards the UN airbase with a string of police patrol cars & military trucks....
2190
Even when I suggested that they let me get into that strange vehicle with Hon. Winnie Kiiza with whom I had travelled from Kenya, they could hear none of that. I was searched and my passport was taken from me. I still don't know where it is!
2191
I was forced into a waiting police vehicle. I insisted that I did not want to get into an unknown car with complete strangers and that I had my own car waiting for me at the arrivals but my plea fell on deaf ears...
2192
Upon landing at Entebbe airport yesterday afternoon, I was immediately arrested by people in police uniform and others in civilian attire. They grabbed me from the tarmac, took away my walking stick and grabbed my red beret off my head!
2193
So after many days away, I am glad to be back home. Yesterday was as hectic as it was when I left. The state has lost all shame. It is pathetic how the security agencies have devoted themselves to violating our rights with impunity day in day out!
2194
I am a free Ugandan with the right to move freely in my country. The police has no business telling me who receives me and who cannot or where I go and where I cannot. This impunity must stop now. Wama see you friends tomorrow. #PeoplePower_OurPower
2195
.... I will be received by friends, colleague leaders & artistes. I will then go and see my sick grandmother briefly at Najjanankumbi from where I will head to Kamwokya for lunch with my family (brothers & sisters) before I go to my home in Magere....
2196
Am wondering why these police officers allow themselves to descend so low? They now want to decide who picks me and where I go upon arrival? Well, for your information, no single family member will receive me at the airport, I will find them home coz I know where home is!
2197
While in the waiting lounge here in Amsterdam, I just saw the @PoliceUg spokesman Emilian Kayima & other senior police officers announcing that they will only allow my immediate family members to receive me from Entebbe Airport. They also said they will escort me to my home....
2198
Headed home. ✈🇺🇬✊

The movie I featured in about four years ago called "SITUKA! A call for action". How prophetic of the events unfolding in our society today! youtu.be/a5CJpasLEMQ
