My condolences on the passing of Fr. Andrés Díaz de Rábago. Of his 104 years, Fr. de Rábago devoted more than 50 to Taiwan, where he became a citizen in 2017. We are forever grateful for all he contributed to our country.

Just as it blocked imports of Taiwanese fruits, China has now suspended grouper imports from #Taiwan, another violation of international norms. To help our fishery workers & farmers, we will continue to expand global export markets for Taiwan’s delicious fish & produce.

Saddened to learn of the passing of the Seediq tribe’s Ipay Wilang, the last surviving preserver of traditional indigenous facial tattoos in Taiwan. Her lifetime of contributions will continue to inspire us in our efforts to preserve Taiwan’s diverse indigenous cultures.
