This is Tseng Yi-hsuan, who overcame obstacles with resilience & won 1🥇&1🥉 in the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles. Next week, she & 49 #Taiwan athletes are going to beat their bests in the 2019 @WorldGamesAD. Good luck! 💪🏼

My thanks to Speaker Kedi for the visit today. We discussed how a closer #Taiwan-#MarshallIslands partnership can benefit our two peoples & the #IndoPacific. Based on our shared values, I hope our good friend will continue to #SpeakUpForTaiwan.

In the latest @WorldBank report on Women, Business & the Law 2019, #Taiwan is ranked as top tier among 187 economies & is one of the 6 countries where all job restrictions on women have been removed. I believe that every woman should be given the right to pursue her aspirations.

In terms of global democratisation, #Taiwan is proof that democratic & economic development go hand in hand. Our #IslandOfResilience is a force for good in the world & there's no doubt #TaiwanCanHelp promote & safeguard freedom, democracy, shared values, and rules-based order.

I’m determined to work with like-minded partners such as #Japan in defending shared values. We’re facing an onslaught of #Disinformation & #FakeNews aimed at undermining democracy. Today, Taiwan is in the crosshairs. Tomorrow, it will be another country. bit.ly/2HaaE4v

Taiwan’s strategic location & high-tech industry leadership make it an indispensable stakeholder in the international economy. The global supply chain will be severely impacted if Taiwan is deleted. I call on all countries to recognise #Taiwan’s value to the #IndoPacific & world.

During an interview with @Sankei_news, I took the opportunity to share with our friends from #Japan #Taiwan’s strong willingness to join the #CPTPP. With our top-quality products & high export volume, #TaiwanCanHelp advance this potential-laden regional trade partnership.

bit.ly/2HaaE4v

Reconciliation is only possible when we can recognise & openly discuss the wrong deeds that have been committed in the past. On 228 Peace Memorial Day, I recommit to the vows that transitional justice & true freedom of speech must be forever cherished in #Taiwan.

This week we opened #Taiwan’s first intelligent driving vehicle test centre, Taiwan CAR Lab. My administration is making every effort to help the country get ready for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

This week, #Taiwan's Cabinet passed a bill recognising same-sex love & marriage. In the eyes of Cupid, everyone is equal.

This is my Hakka tutor, who teaches me to speak my father’s mother tongue & helps me connect with my mixed ethnic backgrounds. On the #InternationalMotherLanguageDay, #Taiwan joins the world in celebrating our linguistic & cultural diversity.

With gracious support from so many friends in the diplomatic community, #Taiwan proudly contributes to building a more open, free, & prosperous world. I look forward to working with like-minded partners & creating more brilliant memories in the year ahead!

Today I received a special gift from @Europarl_EN-Taiwan Friendship Group: a statement signed by 155 members who chose to #SpeakUpForTaiwan. The fates of democracies are intertwined, particularly when the fight to defend democracy is getting tougher: #TaiwanMatters.

As I told @MattRiversCNN this morning, I’m confident about my re-election in 2020. Protecting #Taiwan's freedom & democracy whilst building a brighter future for my 23 million fellow citizens is a goal worth fighting for.

#Taiwan ranks as the world’s 24th most connected country in @DeutschePostDHL’s Global Connectedness Index. We are not only trading with the interconnected world, we are also playing a positive role in the #IndoPacific & around the globe. bit.ly/2TMm1TQ
