[Thread] Someone sent me a very old interview with Asagiri and Harukawa back in 2013 and I have a long train to ride from now so I’m gonna translate it for those who are interested (Note that it is from 10 years ago when bsd just started so some info might not apply now)

I always wondered why in Dark Era anime, they cut off the part where Oda talked to Gide about Dazai being a child too smart and left alone in his own world. And recently after I learned that they DID record that script but only for the episode preview, my WHY even got bigger🥲

Someone in the Japanese fandom pointed out that in Dark Era, Dazai had realized Ango was lying ever since he saw the bag and asked him what time the deal ended and that was why he insisted on taking a picture together that day… and now I can’t stop thinking about it 🥲

Tbh I have a strong faith that Dazai is gonna survive, but I am still on the verge of tearing up at the sincerity and determination in his eyes when he tried to save Sigma and all of the selfless acts he did in this chapter 🥲🥲 Babe I’m sure Odasaku will be proud of u 🥲🥲

After reading Asagiri’s comment in the expo, I finally understand the meaning of this scene. It’s written on the page that no POLICE’d believe the ADA is innocent. But here Tachihara finally realizes he actually belongs to the Mafia, which frees him from the curse of the page.

In the new expo’s comment, Asagiri admits that he likes Sigma so much that he decided to bring Sigma into Mersault even though it was not his original plan, and that now he feels “a little sorry about that” 😂

I’m surprised many people don’t know this. The right pic is a redrawn version of the key visual for the Dark Era stageplay. Was given out as a bonus postcard to those who come to see the stage at some point :3

Reading the interview with Luck Life’s vocalist is interesting. So it turned out that Namae wo yobu is somewhat an Atsushi song, Kaze ga fuku machi is inspired by Oda & Dazai, Bokura is about everyone, Lily is inspired by Chuuya & The Sheep and Shirushi is about Ranpo & Fukuzawa. twitter.com/bungosd_anime/…
