I was rereading past chapters and I just found out that way back in chapter 6, even before Deku announced his hero name, Aizawa called him “Deku no Bou” (木偶の坊).
It’s a smart pun actually, because the literal meaning is “wooden doll” and wooden dolls can’t move.
