About WYAT
Stell: It’s been almost a year since we first performed WYAT onstage during “Our Zone.” From there, it evolved into what it is today. Choreo, musicality, and whole concept nabuo siya after.
Josh: WYAT is a disco-pop track, about disconnection and reconnection.

Josh: During pandemic tumigil talaga ang mundo. Lahat nangyayari na lang online. We are trying to get it back, make the reconnection happen.
Pablo: I composed the song with my brother Josue, like some of the songs in the album. Nice to have someone like him who can give feedback

Pablo: Nung pinapakinggan ko siya noon, it was a bit bland. Suddenly we had a lot of room to work on that track. Walang audience sa harap namin nu’ng unang pinerform ‘yun so wala ‘yung “reconnection.” We’re really excited to perform it again in front of our loving A’tin.

Q: How was the process of producing the track?
Jah: As SB19 we always want to involve ourselves and oversee everything so that what we do is something we like. It’s a collaboration not just among SB19 but a collab with friends, family, and staff

Pablo: As artists, it’s important for us to project our ideas through our music and craft. It feels more intimately genuine kasi you’re the one who experienced the situation and also the one telling the story
Ken: Sa album po namin, gusto namin na connected lahat ng songs…

Ken: Na may story‘yung songs, hindi lang basta ni-release. Gusto namin maintindihan ng fans talaga. It’s us keeping our feet on the ground kahit medyo tumataas na kami.

Q: Does the cassette tape in the MV have special meaning?
Jah: The music. WYAT is the feeling of hearing something from the past. So we thought of a cassette tape. The idea is “the rewind.” Iniikot pa siya. Honestly hindi ko po siya naabutan so nag-research talaga kami hehe

Ken: Those kinds of details matter to us, kahit gaano kaliit or kalaki, may message talaga na gustong iparating sa fans. Gusto namin meaningful sa kanila mga ginagawa namin kasi sa kanila kami may utang na loob.

Pablo: In a nutshell, WYAT is about reconnection. We’re still in a pandemic. We want to go back sa oras na maayos pa lahat. ‘Yung pwedeng magkita nang maayos, hindi kinakabahan pag may inuubo, like simpleng panonood ng sine, those small things na hindi natin na-cherish noon.

Q: Which part are you most excited about?
Stell: We’re excited to visit not just local A’tin but also international A’tin. Kami naman yung pupunta sa kanila.
Pablo: Marami. Siyempre pagkain. Iba-ibang delicacies. Pero ayun, nagpapasalamat kami sa A’tin sa lahat ng suporta nila.

Q: Preparations for the concert and tour?
Ken: Marami po, grabe yung training namin, actually parang ayoko na. Joke. We almost feel like collapsing during training. May vocal and dance trainer din para makapag-focus. We are thankful andiyan sila, malaking tulong sa endurance.

Josh: We’ve gone hard with training for the tour. Sabi nga nila if you make it in New York, you can make it anywhere.
