YouTube has deleted 200 video of so called “burakumin areas” that included houses and maps to locations of Japan’s so-called “lower” class. The company said the videos violate its policy on hate speech. The deletion was the result of a petition drive by burakumin advocates.

A Tokyo court has ruled that the Japanese government violated the rights to equality and dignity of defendants by not allowing for same sex marriage. However it dismissed the defendant’s plea for damages. This makes the 2nd court ruling in favor of same sex marriage in Japan.
