"The forest ecosystem has changed so dramatically that not even the reindeer that have learned to survive on these lands since the ice age can live in the landscape that this type of forestry creates". A not-so flattering portrait of Sweden you seldom see. theguardian.com/environment/ga…

"Unless COP26’s failure is recognized as failure, there is no way to learn from it. Allowing global leaders to feel that what happened in Glasgow was acceptable — and spinning it as some sort of success — would be a disastrous mistake." #COP26 latimes.com/opinion/story/…

“(UK) Ministers say they want to “safeguard the future” of the oil and gas industry, which welcomed the move as potentially being a boon to “investor confidence” in fossil fuels, which scientists say should be phased out.” You could not make this up… independent.co.uk/climate-change…

"In July, wildfires emitted nearly 1.3 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide, a record that was topped by August’s 1.4 gigatons. Between the two months, forest fires emitted an amount of carbon dioxide greater than all of India’s carbon emissions in a year." gizmodo.com/summer-wildfir…

"On the one hand, governments today are saying climate change is their priority. But on the other hand, we are seeing the second biggest emissions rise in history." So, is this what a "green recovery" looks like in practice...? theguardian.com/environment/20…

Yesterday I and three other activists from @FFF_Sweden joined local Sami activists for a manifestation in Gállok. Here, on indigenous land, a British mining company wants to build a mine. That would be a disaster for the climate and environment. 1/4

When reading the new #IPCC report, keep in mind that science is cautious and this has been watered down by nations in negotiations. Many seem more focused on giving false hope to those causing the problem rather than telling the blunt truth that would give us a chance to act.

"Industry-designed bills to silence climate protests are under consideration in Arkansas, Kansas, Minnesota and Montana. More are likely to come." Stay strong. As outrageous as this is, it means you are winning. #KeepItInTheGround #DefendTheDefenders huffpost.com/entry/fossil-f…

"The climate- ecological- and health crisis are all interlinked. But we no longer see the links between them. I would like to connect the dots. Because let's face it - if we don't change, we are f*cked." #ForNature @MercyForAnimals @tommustill

So in the year 2021 Europe chooses to meet its energy demand by building a pipeline to transport more fossil fuels from the ones responsible for this. Shameful on so many levels. #FreeNavalny twitter.com/nytimes/status…

Countless of people are having to flee because of the climate crisis. The time to act is now. We need to get informed, speak up on climate justice and migrant justice, and support vital organizations like @UNmigration #ClimateMigration

School strike week 152 on a clear cut in Sápmi. The #EUForestStrategy is presented today. They’ll continue allowing clear cuts and call burning forest biomass “renewable” - worsening the climate- and ecological emergencies, ignoring indigenous rights and demands #FridaysForFuture
