Comics are one of the only medias where you can have a hundred different artists' styles comes together to create something, and that should be celebrated, not frowned upon. Idk how anyone can be a comic fan and then get angry when the art is drawn in the artists style??

I told the IDW team that I always wanted to do a mock Renaissance painting for a cover someday, and this issue inspired me to go for it. I took lots of inspiration from classic paintings, and also specifically from "The Fallen Angel" by Alexandre Cabanel for Shadow himself

I did the thumbnails and pencils digitally (easier for notes) and then used a mini projector to project the image onto a canvas, and transfer the pencils before painting the rest of it with acrylics

Someone sent me a very nsfw edit of my most recent sonic cover, and while I don't care about what you chose to make in your own free time, do not use my art to do it and do not tell people I made it. I'm really disgusted about it. Pick up a pencil and use your own art.
