Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi revealed that the city now has two omicron cases, both are members of an extended family which went for a holiday in Bali in December. Both are asymptomatic and being quarantined at a local hospital. No info on international travel history as yet.

Let’s open 2022 with the news that 68 more omicron cases arrived in the country, doubling the total to 136. Majority of them arrived from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE, and the US.

The man had visited a restaurant in the SCBD area in Jakarta on the 17th and tested positive on the 19th as he was about to return to Medan. His test was confirmed for omicron on the 26th and is being moved to Sulianti Saroso hospital.

A man from Medan travelling to Jakarta this month has tested positive for the Omicron variant. The man had no recent history of travelling overseas or contact with Omicron patients. The man has been in Jakarta since Dec 6. Contact tracing is being conducted.
