Yesterday coming back from JFK to LAX with American Airlines, I was harassed and humiliated. I was forced out of the plane and was harassed to take off my pants in front of the flight crews at the gate.

I have never had an issue with wearing this pair of pants before in my many months of touring in North America and they did not have any problem with me wearing it at the time of check-in nor when I sat down at my seat.

Here is my story.
A staff suddenly approached me to pack up my belongings and leave the plane without any kind of explanation. As I was escorted off the plane, they claimed that my sweatpants were “inappropriate” and “offensive” telling me that I need to take the next flight.

I had an important meeting set up in LA on that day, so I could not afford to get off this flight. I pleaded to stay on the flight but was ignored by the staff and the flight attendants. I even offered to get changed but the request was denied. What happened next was horrendous.

With my broken fingers, I hardly ended up taking off my pants in front of the whole crew and standing half-naked while they still refused to board me on the flight. They even sarcastically commented that I could have taken off my pants earlier.

When they finally let me enter, I put my pants inside out and finally sat down after an hour of delay causing inconvenience to the members of the flights on board.

I was mortified and trembling in fear for the next 6 hours on my flight back to LA. In my 8 years of touring, I have never experienced or been treated unfairly, especially in a country that is known for its freedom of speech and individuality.

From now on, I will be boycotting @AmericanAir and hope this NEVER happens to anyone ever again.

어제 뉴욕에서 엘에이로 가는 비행기를 탔는데 출발 직전에 이유도 알려주지 않은 채 저에게 다짜고짜 짐을 다 가지고 나가라고 하더니 비행기 입구 앞에서 저의 바지가 “불쾌”하다며 다른 비행기를 타라고 했습니다.저는 간절한 마음으로 모두가 보는 입구 앞에서 바지를 벗을 수 밖에 없었어요

하지만 제가 바지를 벗고 아무것도 입지 않은 상태였음에도 불구하고 그들은 저에게 비행기를 타기전에 바지를 벗지 그랬냐며 비꼬았고 이미 저의 바지 때문에 너무 불쾌하다고 저를 이 비행기에 태울 수 없다며 계속 다른 비행기를 타라고 했습니다.

저의 팀원들의 노력 끝에 저는 바지를 뒤집어입은 상태로 비행기를 다시 탈 수 있었습니다.저는 손가락이 부러진 상태여서 아주 불편하게 바지를 벗었고 모두가 보고 있는 비행기 입구 앞에서 바지를 벗은 것도,바지를 벗은채로 비행기를 태워달라고 빌고 있던 것도 정말 굴욕적인 일이 었습니다.

비행기를 타고 가는 내내 비행기 안에 있는 모든 사람들이 무서웠고 6시간동안 불안에 떨면서 겨우 도착했습니다. 8년동안 투어를 다니면서 비행기에서 쫓겨난 것도 처음이고 모두가 보는 앞에서 바지를 벗어본 것도 처음이고 바지를 벗은채로 빌어본 것도 처음이네요…

더욱이 개인의 자유를 존중해주는 국가인 미국에서 이런일이 벌어졌다는 것이 믿을 수가 없었습니다.다시는 그누구에게도 이런일이 벌어져서는 안된다고 생각하고 앞으로 아메리칸 에어라인을 보이콧하겠습니다.
