Today is the four year anniversary of @MaiaShibutani and I winning our second Olympic medal. An incredible day for us and a breakthrough for Asians in ice dance.
As Japanese Americans, it’s not lost on us that we won this medal on the 76th anniversary of Executive Order 9066.

February 19th is Day of Remembrance. 80 years ago, Executive Order 9066 was signed. Over 120,000 Japanese Americans were stripped of their civil rights and forcibly removed from their homes and communities. Their lives were forever changed - one of them was our grandpa. twitter.com/jamuseum/statu…
