i know we joke about how zhongli is "retired", but a hero retiring to obscurity is actually a prized moral action. The idea is that a hero doesn't want anyone to know their name or be "rewarded" for their actions, do they hide their identity from the world. It's called 隐迹埋名.

a little background on the madam ping and guizhong relationship, this is a direct reference to the chinese legend of 知音, literally someone who "knows one's sound".
In the legend a musician found his 知音 but after the 知音 passed he broke his zither and never played again.
