Notes in Oda's notebook mention that unlike Paramecia Awakenings, Zoan Awakenings bear a risk with them, seemingly being that the nature of the animal can end up consuming the user. Oda notes we can see this with the Impel Down jailers, who were consumed by their devil fruits

About Yamato, the current translation consensus that most translators have recognized is that external sources (ie: manga narrator, vivre cards, merchandise) use female wording, while in-canon characters (ie: Luffy, SHs, Kaido, goons) use male wording (as desired by Yamato)

Given the way "cooking" is written in Japanese katakana (クッキング), its phonetic spelling in JP is typed as "kucking", so a lot of JP speakers often accidentally romanize it as "cocking", unaware of the correct Eng spelling
