Today we land landed the (and the Western World's) biggest helicopter yet when a @Sikorsky MH-53E touched down on 3 spot.
Something even bigger is on the flight schedule for tomorrow though; can you guess what it is?

F-35B Lightnings from @USMC have arrived onboard! The jets, from VMX-1 based at MCAS Yuma, are conducting 'fly to' operations for the next two weeks. Their pilots are undergoing CQ, 'Carrier Qualification', before exercising pairs sorties with our own UK Lightnings #WESTLANT19

So after stretching our sea legs we have hit dry land with our legs running, preparing for #westlant18 & #firstdecklanding
It’s going to be hard work, but all worth it to see those #f35 wheels touch down safely on our flight deck for the first time!

A brilliant and busy time, we have now passed through the Strait of Malacca.
We sailed with ships of the Royal Malaysian Navy 🇲🇾 @tldm_rasmi and with the Republic of Singapore Navy 🇸🇬 @mindefsg and got some great team photos! 📷 ⚓

Our aft island (built at Scotstoun) & Lower Blocks 3 & 4 (built at Govan) have now brought the whole Ship back to the Firth of Clyde.
We will spend the next period at Glenmallan filling up for #CSG21.
Always a pleasure coming back to our roots.
