One of my early renditions of Holocaust from Blood Syndicate when I first started drawing Static. I think I opted to go with his classic look for his first appearance.

You know, a part of me wants to redraw the original Static origin (gang violence and all) but with a Ryoichi Ikegami flair to it. Just so y’all can have that. I might do that in my spare time if I get a chance.

It’s not a secret that manga has had influence over my run on Static. So as I wrap up the 6th issue, I wanted to draw something I’ve been wanting to draw for some time now; The Milestone Characters in the style of Akira Toriyama.

If I was ever asked to do something else for DC that isn’t Static, it would have to be Batman Beyond. No exceptions. -“But Nik, what about- No. I know what I like. Sorry, I’ve been listening to CLOSE combined live by Richie Hawtin and I’m seeing dope scenes in my head.

Here are all 6 of my Static covers. I tried to show some range with these by alternating from digital to traditional. Looking at them all together, there’s a lot more color than I expected. This was definitely a learning experience. Excited for what’s next.

Here is my Static Issue 6 Cover! For this cover I wanted to do something different and make it a wrap-around cover done traditional (mostly). This is my last Static Cover for the season and I believe will be released in February. I only have one more issue to draw now!
