14 years ago today Shizuka Arakawa won Japan's first Olympic figure skating crown. “Many times I thought about quitting...I am so happy I continued. I hope this will be an inspiration for future generations of skaters.” Arakawa won the only medal for Japan at the 2006 Olympics.

According to this, Trusova/Tutberidze conflict has been happening for awhile. At Russian nats, they argued about technical content.
