If the govts of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala & Jharkhand reduce VAT on fuel, the prices of Petrol & Diesel will reduce for consumers in these states.
People in these states have to pay more because their state govts continue to levy heavy VAT.

As for refilling Ujjwala cylinders, the Hon’ble MP needs to know that average consumption of Ujjwala beneficiaries which started with a little less than 3 cylinders in a year has steadily increased to 3.68 cylinders in 2021-22.

So, number of 55,000 connections used in speech of Hon’ble President is actually conservative. Political parties who thrived in an era of control, shortages & deficit perhaps cannot fathom that LPG connection which was kept a luxury till 2013-14, is available for the asking.
