A moment of hope at exactly this time last year in Hong Kong. I was there. It was electric. Rejuvenating. A year later: the city is unrecognisable. It’s hard to find hope, to see a way back. But there WILL be an end to this. Never give up. Never give in. #Darkestbeforedawn twitter.com/kinlinglo/stat…

Hong Kong twitter much quieter. Chilling effect. Don't be silenced. Your voice is hugely important. I know first hand how much of a difference it has made to the international campaign.

X-Party amendment to Trade Bill preventing the UK pursuing trade deals with genocidal states. Backed by former Supreme Court Justice Lord Hope + many others. Debate+vote on 7th Dec. It must pass. ❗️No trade deals with genocidal states.❗️#Uyghurs

The @GOVUK must offer proper support to #HongKong people who feel they have no choice but to come to the UK on @pritipatel BN(O) scheme. In the meantime we are building the Hong Kong Assistance and Resettlement Community (HK ARC) to provide trusted help. #StandwithHK twitter.com/hongkongarc/st…

Thank you ⁦@tedhuichifung⁩ for joining last night and for so many ⁦@ipacglobal⁩ members for coming at (very) short notice. We must #standtogether as CCP pressure on states and individuals intensifies.

Not again... ⁦@HSBC⁩ need to make a choice. Will it be the “world’s local bank” or an accomplice to authoritarianism. Can’t be both. hk.appledaily.com/news/20201207/…

❗️Urgent Question in the House of Commons today: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs if he will make a statement on the sentencing of the Hong Kong pro-democracy activists Joshua Wong, Agnes Chow and Ivan Lam. Thanks @AlynSmith

#BREAKING UK GOV DEFEATED. Genocide amendment to the Trade Bill stands. 287 to 161 - majority of 126! The amendment prevents the UK trading with genocidal states and empowers UK courts to judge on cases of genocide. Thank you to this man 👇

Absurd, even for Hong Kong in 2020. This is a transparent attempt to scare #HK Twitter into silence. They know how influential it has been among Western politicians. Don’t fall for it. It just underlines the power and necessity of your voice. hk.appledaily.com/news/20201212/…

Often feel a lone voice on this, but something about which @JimmyLaiApple and I always agreed: The international community (especially the U.K.) made treaty promises to Hong Kong which it is FAILING to keep. And “lifeboat” schemes don’t change that. #HKFightOn

The prosecution failed to bring wider evidence and showed little understanding of the HK context. Nevertheless the fact that Junius was willing to lose tens of thousands of pounds fighting this shows how important it is to remove foreign privileges from cronies like him.
