the older i get the more i start to wonder if i'm more dedicated to my sadness than i am my happiness. like i spend so much time trying to unpack and understand my sadness it's no wonder i feel happiness comes to me in spurts whereas sadness feels constant.

i think a big paradox of growing up/getting older/becoming an "adult" is that for the most part I don't feel that way emotionally. i can convince my brain that i'm more "mature/wise", but emotionally i often feel quite child-like.
