He used this to embody their loss (usually of humanity) they suffered and was a constant reminder to them.

Kamen Rider Kuuga premiered 20 years ago today on January 30, 2000.
The first Rider show of the Heisei era, and although was planned to be just a one-off, ended up so popular that the franchisee still continues to now in the Reiwa period!

I LOVE Tokusatsu Gagaga, but it does make me sad to see characters struggling to keep their embarrassing hobbies a secret.
