During my recent visit to Japan, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Abe again and discuss many issues. He was witty and insightful as always. Little did I know that this would be our last meeting. My heartfelt condolences to his family and the Japanese people.

My association with Mr. Abe goes back many years. I had got to know him during my tenure as Gujarat CM and our friendship continued after I became PM. His sharp insights on economy and global affairs always made a deep impression on me.

The projects whose foundation stone would be laid include road infra works to ease traffic congestion, development work under the Sarnath Buddhist Circuit, tourism development works in old Kashi and other such projects aimed at boosting ‘Ease of Living.’

At 4 PM, I will attend a programme in which development works worth Rs. 1800 crore will either be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid. These projects include those relating to urban development, re-development of Namo Ghat, heritage of Kashi and more.

At around 3 PM, I will attend the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, which brings together key stakeholders from the education sector to discuss aspects of the National Education Policy, 2020. Emphasis will be on ways to further strengthen its implementation in the coming times.
