15 years ago on September 6, 2007, IDF fighter jets carried out Operation Orchard, and destroyed a nuclear reactor in Syria that threatened the whole Middle East. The IDF takes any threat against Israelis very seriously, and will operate against any threat to our civilians.
IDF soldiers spotted a number of suspects attempting to smuggle drugs from Egypt into Israeli territory this morning. These 25kg of drugs, estimated to be worth half a million NIS, were confiscated. We will continue operating to secure Israel's borders.

A shooting attack took place in the Jordan Valley area earlier today during which armed terrorists fired at a bus, injuring 6 IDF soldiers & a civilian. IDF forces apprehended 2 individuals suspected of carrying out the attack. They are still searching for additional terrorists.
“As a medic I gave life-saving medical care to my squad sergeant.” Corporal M. is the soldier and medic in the Tzabar Battalion, who neutralized the assailant and immediately provided vital medical care to the soldier stabbed at an IDF military post earlier today.

During a military exercise in northern Israel, an IDF soldier passed away today after extensive resuscitation efforts. The Military Police have opened an investigation into the matter. The soldier’s family has been notified & the IDF will continue to support them at this time.

Earlier today, IDF and Israeli security forces prevented these weapons from being smuggled illegally into Israeli territory, after IDF observation soldiers spotted the suspects. The weapons and suspects have been transferred for processing.
IDF and Israeli security forces thwarted a weapons smuggling attempt in the Jordan Valley. Last weekend, these 10 handguns and 3 suspects—among them the head of the smuggling operation—were detained. They were transferred for further processing.
Earlier this morning, IDF soldiers spotted multiple suspects attempting to smuggle drugs into Israel. The soldiers operated to thwart the attempt, and confiscated 50 kg of drugs worth approximately 2 million shekels. The drugs were transferred to the Israel Police.

A report was received regarding live fire shot at an Israeli bus adjacent to the village of Silwad. No injuries were reported. IDF soldiers are currently searching the area for the suspects.
