The war in Ukraine has stripped many people of basic necessities, even something as simple as light. In a show of solidarity, we joined the European Economic & Trade Office in observing two hours of darkness at the Presidential Office. #Taiwan & its people #StandWithUkraine.

Today I was at the @Taiwan_CDC to review Taiwan's pandemic response & vaccine progress. Two of Taiwan’s domestically developed vaccines are finishing phase 2 clinical trials, with the first doses expected to be available by late July.

Today we remember all those who fought to defend Kinmen Island 70 years ago. Peace can never be achieved by compromising our beliefs nor by bending to others. We need strong national defense & a sense of solidarity to show the world we are determined to defend our sovereignty.

Today's arrival of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines brings the total doses delivered to #Taiwan to nearly 2.4 million. We have already vaccinated more than 1.3 million people, and will continue to acquire & distribute vaccines to ensure everyone in Taiwan is protected.
