. @GlitsInc is a grassroots organization that supports the LGBTQ+ community and over the course of the last few months they’ve been providing temporary housing for Black trans people recently released from Rikers Island jail in NYC.

They are now very close to reaching their goal to creating a permanent place to house and support Black trans people in New York City. Having a stable home on release from prison will allow them to focus on their mental health and their education.

It’s almost a year since Elijah McClain was killed by police as he walked home from a convenience store. He was just 23 years old and unarmed. Elijah was placed in a chokehold by police and injected with ketamine by paramedics. The officers have been cleared of any wrongdoing.
