Respawn is "actively prototyping" more support characters for Apex Legends.
The devs said they have heard feedback about wanting more support characters, and are looking to balance out the roster.

Newcastle was previously a Legend called 'Axium'.
The abilities were for a "breach and clear" playstyle, and the passive was around shield batteries, but was scrapped because they were not team-based enough and too selfish.
