It looks like some changes were missing from the patch notes that have been added in Season 15, from the dev stream.
They include a “use our abilities” ping and only support legends can open blue bins (not just Lifeline).

This is the first time ever that no Legend changes have been made at the start of a new season of Apex.

In Season 15, the Ring 1 preshrink time has been increased to 90 seconds (was 60 seconds)
Last season it was cut from 180 seconds to 60 seconds, so now we're half as much as before Season 14.

There are no Legend buffs or nerfs in the Season 15 update ❌
However, ALL legends will now be unlocked to use in the Firing Range. You no longer need to own the Legend to test them out!

Ultimate: The Dark Veil - A gigantic wall of ferrofluid, it can be walked through and shot through, but will slow enemies as they push, and blind them after they exit.
TOTALLY blocks scans (Seer, Bloodhound etc.)
It goes pretty high, but Horizon can "probably" Q over it.

Tactical: Piercing spikes - Catalyst throws a patch of ferrofluid, triggering a row of spikes when enemies are near, slowing and damaging them.
It can be damaged by enemies, but only when close. And can be thrown quite far.

Catalyst's abilities explained:
Passive: Barricade - Can reinforce doors, takes 2x as long to destroy by melee, and can only be opened/closed by cat + teammates. Can also fill gaps where doors were already destroyed.
Up to 2 doors at a time can be reinforced.

No, cross-progression is not coming in Season 15.
Respawn said they still "definitely" want to add cross-progression, but it is "very technically challenging" and so they don't want to commit to a release date.

Zip rails are a big new feature in Season 15, exclusive to Broken Moon.
They are like ziplines, but much faster, and go much farther. You are vulnerable while using them though, and it's harder to aim.
