Official Viz in the early days sometimes made mistranslations. In Japanese chap.1, Roo called Shanks with insult, "Calm down, you *damn* Captain!"(この野郎) I can't imagine King/Katakuri would insult their bosses. It tells us how friendly Red Hair Pirates are with each other.🥰

Trivia: There is a reason why geisha Osome's pet is a mouse. Osome (お染) means "dye". About 200 years ago, geishas in Fukagawa region were known to wear a gray-"dyed" kimono. Its color was called Fukagawa Mouse (深川鼠). Oda's research skill is amazing.😋

Oda loves funny scenes like Nika's fights. He advised the director of Film Z that Zephyr should fold his clothes in a funny way right after being rescued from the sea, but the director rejected his advice and Oda complained about it.😅 (2012)
