Shanks was afraid about the damage Kidd may cause, but Beckman just looked relaxed. Oda: Shanks isn't perfect. The important scene in ch.1 is where Shanks was at a loss when Luffy got abducted. Anyone can draw a cool character. Beckman just smiles and supports Shanks.😊 (2022)

Shanks' attack Devine Departure is written as 神避 (Kamusari) in JP chapter, which means *death of god*. It's based on the ancient JP records called Kojiki 1300 years ago. Maybe Oda is implying Shanks and Roger share the will to defeat *god* aka Celestial Dragons💪 #ONEPIECE1079

In Film Red, we saw Shanks Pirates fighting based on the advice from Oda. But the director deliberately put some *fake* fight styles although some are true. He was worried Red may end up spoiling manga fans' predictions and thought full fight styles should be revealed in manga.🥰

Unlike fan translations, Viz official translation about Shanks: "When old friends who thought each other dead are reunited." sounds like "The giants thought Shanks was dead." I agree with this translation. Japanese fans are already discussing why they thought Shanks was dead.💎🤔
