On the day of the coup, two military officials came to President U Win Myint and asked him to resign "for health reasons". They threatened him that he would personally be "in danger" if he refused to resign.
The President replied he would not resign even if it meant death.

Chinese media keep saying that anti-China sentiment inside Myanmar is being flamed by western media and anti-China groups. Wrong!
Just look at Myanmar’s relations with west and China a few months before the coup. It’s totally the fault of junta for growing anti-China sentiment.
