We, the young people of Myanmar, are not pro-this country or anti-that country. We are pro-democracy, pro-human rights, pro-freedom, and anti-dictatorship, anti-brutality and anti-oppression. Anyone could be our friends if they are up for these values.

@meemalee It’s not difficult to imagine how brainwashing works. Even in a country with free flow of information and internet access, the liberal and conservative media report two different realities. And millions of people believe in totally two different versions of events.
(3/3) These same people are now being murdered by the military junta on a daily basis. Should the majority have spoken out louder? Yes! But do not easily dismiss the people who have worked so hard for democracy, human rights and peace in this country. It’s not fair.
(2/3) There are journalists who did their best to expose atrocities against the Rohingya. There are so many intellectuals and activists, throughout the years, tried their best to educate the public about the Rohingya crisis, and the problem of nation building in this country.
(1/3) Let’s make it clear. There are young activists who spoke out for minorities including Rohingyas, and they are still in jail. There are young people who signed up to volunteer for humanitarian assistance right after the crisis. twitter.com/meemalee/statu…
