Unfortunately ppl who live in the fandom culture and believe that physical sales is everything for all artists are completely wrong, that's something that the companies themselves have been doing and it's annoying because then when they see someone having 50 copies laugh at them.

An example of how to survive as an artist without selling 1k copies of their albums are PSY, Kassy, KyoungSeo, Lee Mujin, Jessi, even rappers, all of them are very popular with the general public but don't live from sales, they can live perfectly from concerts and endorsements.

I don't know if they're fans of other artists since 2020 or 2021, but they're so used to every popular artist having to sell 100k copies of their album to survive, when there are so many artists that album sales are irrelevant.
