~ Potentially useful JP fact ~
In Japanese slang アンモニャイト ("anmonyaite") refers to the instance where cats roll up like the pictured form and they look like an ammonite, the extinct marine mollusk creature. twitter.com/monamofumofu/s…

Honestly, I'm not very knowledgeable about the gaming industry and I didn't know Kotaro Uchikoshi (@Uchikoshi_Eng) until now.
But it gives me hope (as a JP nonbinary person) to see him (an older cis JP man) defend nonbinary identity and say that nonbinary people exist in Japan. twitter.com/JohnXuandou/st…

TW: transphobia
Currently, トランス女性 (JP word for "trans women") is a top trending topic in JP Twitter.
I advise all trans & nonbinary people to stay away from clicking it because most of the tweets on that topic are transphobic tirades about trans women in women's bathroom.

頑張って! (Ganbatte!) can be interpreted as "You can do it!" or "Work harder!" (in encouragement) but you're usually saything this to others who seem to need a pep talk.
& it's one of the phrases the JP government advises NOT to say to people with depression/suicidal ideation 🧵 twitter.com/japanese_lunch…

~ JP Pun Explainer: Xmas Ver.~
In the last hour, メリークルシミマス (Merry Kurushimimasu) became a trending topic in JP Twitter.
It means "Merry I-will-be-suffering" & was posted by people harboring bitter sentiments about Christmas, not in a religious way, however.

This guy specifically has a name in Japanese & the name is たかざわじゅんすけ (Takazawa Junsuke), a name commonly identified as a male.
Note:
Takazawa = family name & Junsuke =name because it's written in typical Japanese name form. twitter.com/lovesickdoe/st…

Thanks to the OP for tagging me in his thread to let me know that the Japanese version of Harvestella uses the word ニュートラル ("Neutral") when the English version uses "Non-binary" for the 3rd option.
To me, this seems as a deliberate choice by the studio.
