I got them both home and hosed off and everyone is fine. I’m beat and so is Smiles but it could’ve been much worse. Just an average day in the country. Lol. That Smiles is one tough dog. Got the hole they dug filled in and fixed. What a day.

5) Petey is young and was fine and could easily climb and move around and Smiles finally climb out with me pushing him all the way by the ass when he would get stuck.

4) When I drove to the quarry I saw both dogs waaaay on the other side by the water and Smiles was stuck in quicksand. I had to climb around this entire thing, getting stuck myself often, and get him dug out. It was hot and he was in trouble.

3) a guy was driving a truck out the dirt road to the quarry and I stopped him and asked if he’d seen two coonhounds - he says he had over near the quarry. I was like “Oh no!”

2) behind my property there’s some woods, then a huge cow pasture, then some swamp land, then a huge sand quarry over a mile away. I didn’t think he could make it that far but I drove back there anyway because I was starting to panic.

1) Old Smiles dug out of my fence and got lost today - Petey was with him. I was shocked because he hasn’t been moving well and can barely walk sometimes. I looked everywhere and couldn’t find them. The few times they do dig out they usual don’t go very far.
