“There is no way to separate the fight for Indigenous rights from the fight for environmental rights, because we see ourselves as being the land itself. We are part of the earth and everything that affects the earth directly affects us.” - @GuajajaraSonia

Shell's facility that captures CO2 actually emits more than it is capturing. It has the same yearly carbon footprint as 1,2 million gas-powered cars.
This is exactly what happens when people in power care more about their reputation and imagery than to actually reduce emissions. twitter.com/Global_Witness…

The EU taxonomy today takes greenwashing to a completely new level. The people in power do not even pretend to care anymore. Now they are moving into unchartered greenwash territory.

Yesterday I and three other activists from @FFF_Sweden joined local Sami activists for a manifestation in Gállok. Here, on indigenous land, a British mining company wants to build a mine. That would be a disaster for the climate and environment. 1/4
746
The Sami communities affected have clearly and repeatedly said no to this mine. We now await the Swedish government’s decision on whether they will allow this to happen or not. 2/4
747
The short-term profits of a mining company cannot be prioritised over the culture and rights of the Sámi people, as well as our climate, biodiversity and clean air and water.
No matter what the people in power might claim, this mine will not be a part of a “green transition”. 3/4

The time for false, neo-colonial climate “solutions” is over. The Swedish government must end the colonisation of Sápmi and the exploitation of people and nature. Sign this petition to show your support: mittskifte.org/petitions/stop…
